The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Veng Sakhon said that the Cambodia’s rice exports to the international market grew by about 40.5 percent in the first four months.
He added that from January to April, Cambodia exported milled rice to over 300,000 tonnes.
He said the exports of official agricultural products totalled more than two million tonnes and informal one million tonnes.
Mr Sakhon said that in April, Cambodia also exported 5,500 tonnes of cassava starch, and 4,500 tonnes of fresh cassava to Thailand and Vietnam, 800 tonnes of cashew nut to mostly Vietnam, 1,982 tonnes of banana to China, Vietnam and Japan, and 150 tonnes of mangoes to Thailand, Vietnam, France, Russia, Korea and Hong Kong.
However, he added in the first four months, Cambodia exported 9,301 tonnes of cassava powders, 33,298 tonnes of corn, 2,252 tonnes of pepper, 44 tonnes of vegetable, 420 tonnes of tobacco, 186, 205 tonnes of cashew nut, 42,035 tonnes of mangoes, and others.
