The $180 million Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, the first Hyatt Regency in Cambodia, will officially open for guests in January 2021, according to senior executive of the five-star hotel.
Herman Kemp, general manager of Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, said that the property is part of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, which has a global portfolio of 21 premier brands, spanning over 900 properties in 65 countries.
“The hotel will be opening in January and we are excited to open our doors and welcome guests in our restaurants, bars and guest rooms. “We will be offering new culinary experiences with locally sourced, sustainable products and exciting venues for weddings, social gatherings and corporate events,” Kemp added.
Leang Khun, Co-Founder and Chairman of Chip Mong Group, said that this year, we [Cambodia] face the Covid-19 crisis; of course, more or less, the local economy and business were affected inevitably. However, Chip Mong, with its strong foundation in Cambodia’s market in the past 40 years, has put forward strategies that will ensure that the property will continue to thrive no matter what circumstances we are facing.
“More than 10 businesses of Chip Mong continue to be operate, a proof that Chip Mong is the most trusted and reliable local company at any time and any situation,” he added.
Khun said “Chip Mong invested in Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh so that we can contribute to the development of our economy, partake in serving our tourism and business activities, create job opportunities, develop our local human resources, bring new technology and best practices in hotel and hospitality sector to be applied in Cambodia’s market.
“As the owners of this hotel, we have a high commitment to solve all challenges, and mobilise resources to invest in constructing this building and bringing along global-branded hotels to Cambodia,” he said.
