More than 30,000 tourists visited the Angkor site during Pchum Ben festival.
During the three days of the Pchum Ben festival, from 5 to 7 October 2021, the Angkor site received a total of 35,418 tourists.
According to a report from the Department of Angkor Tourism Development of the Apsara National Authority today, there were 6,436 tourists at Angkor on 05 October, 15,355 tourists on 06 October, and 13,627 tourists on 07 October.
Meanwhile, more than 664,000 tourists flocked to various tourism spots in the country during the three days of the Pchum Ben holiday, which began on Tuesday.
Chan Chanda, a tourist who visited Siem Reap province said that she and her family went to visit Angkor Wat for the Pchum Ben holiday.
“There were many tourists visiting over the Pchum Ben holiday. The authorities there were taking great care of the people who visited, by implementing robust heath measures to avoid any Covid-19 infections. I was very happy with my holiday in Siem Reap,” she said.
“The temples are beautiful.”
According to Ministry of Tourism‘s yesterday, most tourists chose to go on family trips and some went on multiple sightseeing tours. As a new trend, some visitors have opted for accommodations with an attached kitchen or cooking area, while others had opted for a family-style barbecue, while there were those who prepared food or barbecue grills.
