Acleda Bank, commercial bank in Cambodia, reported an 11.88 percent increase in total revenue at $18.56 million for the first quarter of 2022, compared to the same quarter last year.
Total assets increased by $300.71 million or 3.83 percent. It was largely due to an increase in deposits and loans at $183.64 million and $92.84 million, respectively.
“The loans to customers increased 6.70 percent to $5,792.03 million for the quarter. Moreover, the profit after tax in the first quarter reached $36.70 million,” Mar Amara, Senior EVP and Group Chief Finance Officer, told Khmer Times.
“Acleda Bank is successful in the market and the profit is due to two factors. The growth in the portfolio is due to high market demand for bank credit products, especially from the SME sector, and bank deposits, other products and services. Both these factors are associated with the continuous development of the bank’s digital system.”
“Acleda Bank has been developing a wider range of infrastructure for a wider choice of 319 offices through a gradual transition to an autonomous hub with 93 automated banking locations and 1,047 Acleda ATMs, 26 fixed deposit machines, 24 ATMs and ATMs, 14 wallet machines and 4,550 POS machines,” she said.
“We are so proud that Acleda Bank has printed 1.65 million Acleda ATM cards to its customers. In addition, Acleda Mobile has become very popular with more than 2.42 million subscribers by the end of March 2022, which will help accelerate the cash flow in the economy,” she pointed out.
“Enhancing customer convenience and cyber security is the top priority of Acleda Bank. To achieve these strong goals, the bank will continue to improve its information technology infrastructure by investing in state-of-the-art technology, strengthening its human resources capacity and expanding and improving its business processes.”
Amara added that as a strategy, the bank has been developing a payment system that enables both local and international partners to connect to this system to serve each other and across borders. “This system not only directly benefits our smart customers but also their business partners. We recognise that our customers and business partners are an important link in expanding our banking services and growing together.”
“Acleda Mobile has been extensively improved and redesigned to be more modern, convenient and highly secure with many advanced features. Now, all customers can make a deposit-saving transaction (saving, current and fixed) through Acleda Mobile immediately and get high-interest rate. Acleda Easy Shop is an online marketplace created in Acleda Mobile for the public to buy, sell products, and services and make payments immediately.”
KHQR provides users with an easier, more efficient, secure and reliable way to make payment transactions between banks and financial institutions and payment services providers that are members of the Bakong Program,” she added.
