Neak Poan Temple is one of the most attractive tourist destinations among the ancient temples, which is located along the main road by traveling from the north gate of Angkor Thom.
After the APSARA National Authority built a new bridge to visit the temple, especially the visiting circuits of the Neak Poan temple, tourists can now visit and take pictures of beautiful green plants on the bridge across the northern baray, and see many kinds of birds. In the inner part of the temple, the team always cut down the vegetation or branches that grow in the temple area, so that tourists can visit the temple through the new visiting circuits.
Ngor Pich, an official of the Department of Tourism Development and Culture of the APSARA National Authority, said that the team has mowed the lawn as well as regularly cleaning the outside and inside of the temple area. There is proper parking for cars and motorbikes. He added that at Neak Poan temple, there are many beautiful spots where visitors come to take photos, such as the sunrise and sunset view from the bridge as well as photos of the temple.
The Neak Poan Temple was built during the reign of Jayavarman VII in 1191 to dedicate to Mahayana Buddhism.
The temple was built on a 350-square-meter island with four freshwater ponds arranged with a cross sign as a symbol of the hospital. APSARA Authority
