Banteay Meanchey Governor has requested the Japanese-Cambodian Association to attract Japanese investors to do business in the province.
Governor of Banteay Meanchey, Oum Reatry, met with the Director of the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) and General Manager of NIPPON KOEI CO, LTD, Tamura Tsutomu, on February 1. Tamura was accompanied by a delegation.
Governor Reatry briefed Tamura on the general situation and economic potential of Banteay Meanchey. The Governor stated that the province has three main economic ports: Poipet International Port, Boeung Trakoun Gate and Malai Border Crossing.
The province also has five SEZs: O’Neang Special Economic Zone, Sanko Special Economic Zone, Poipet PP Special Economic Zone, Ly Ut Special Economic Zone Ny and an industrial park in Serei Saophoan. Two of the economic zones in the province currently hosts seven Japanese companies.
The Governor said that the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration is always ready to support the initiative and cooperation with the Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) in all activities. Governor Reatry requested the JCA’s assistance in attracting Japanese investment for Banteay Meanchey.
Tamura informed the Governor that the JCA plans to lead a delegation of Japanese investors to visit Cambodia, including Banteay Meanchey.
The purpose of the visit is to learn more on the potential of the province, and to gather more information on activities of the Japanese factories in Banteay Meanchey.
