Prior to the end of the first quarter of 2022, Cambodia exported more than 170,000 tons of milled rice and more than 1.3 million tons of rice grains.
This is according to a report received by local new on April 5. According to the report, Cambodia exported Cambodia rice to 49 countries and autonomous regions.
Exports to China and Hong Kong accounted for 52 percent of the total export or 88,646 tons. The exports to the two locations are valued at $45.19 million. One of the other larger export markets is the European countries which accounts for 31 percent or 52,222 tons, which is valued at $35.95 million. Exports to ASEAN member states comprises only 10 percent of the total exports or 17,310 tons and valued at $10.64 million.
Aside from the aforementioned markets, Cambodia also exports Cambodia rice and rice products to countries in Africa, Oceania, Australia, New Zealand and other European, Asian and Eurasian countries.
The largest export market is Vietnam, with exports to the country amounting 1,390,181 tons and valued at approximately $313 million. The exports is an increase of 13.60 percent.
