Cellcard has been awarded the 2020 winner for the best-gaming experience by OpenSignal, an independent global standard for understanding the true state of the world’s mobile networks based on measurements of real user experience.
“We have a great pleasure to announce that Cellcard is the 2020 winner for the best-game experiences by Opensignal,” said Cellcard Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ian Watson.
“This year has been a very challenging year for all of us and we can expect throughout the remainder of the year to be continuously challenged, scratched and tested until the end of the year and probably further ahead,” he added.
Watson said, however, that 2020 is revealing more major lessons for Cellcard. It’s been a lesson for team work, commitment, to determination and I am extremely honoured and proud to work with the Cellcard team. Our operations are robust and support the Royal Government of Cambodia and several ministries through this very serious crisis,” Watson said.
In times such as these, many brands have been challenged and are having to reinvent themselves. Cellcard has managed to do this by finding new ways of doing business and new ways to support the people of Cambodia, he added.
Watson said: “This time we have seen our customers turn to online for their education and learning for information and updates from authorities in relation to the crisis, for entertainment and to keep connected to their friends and families. Our own workforce has moved away from the traditional offices to online meeting conferences and we have digitalised many of our internal processes and, as a result, we have seen a huge increased in data traffic over the Cellcard network since April.”
OpenSignal’s CEO, Brendan Gill, said his company is the trusted global standard for measuring mobile network experiences and recently it conducted an in-depth study for mobile network experiences in Cambodia that was released this month. “I am very pleased to congratulate Cellcard on providing the best mobile gaming experiences in Cambodia,” he said.
“For Cellcard to be the first recipient of this award in Cambodia is hugely important given the audience of mobile gaming is a massive, fast-growing segment in the mobile industry and, in particular, in Cambodia, we know that e-sport is a massively growing trend particularly because it has a young demographic, so it is important to provide important gaming experiences,” Gill added.
