CP Cambodia Co Ltd yesterday inaugurated a food factory in Kampot province, focusing on high standards of hygiene, quality and safety.
Wittaya Kreangkriwit, Senior Vice President, CP Cambodia, said, “CP Cambodia has been operating in Cambodia’s agro-industry and food business for more than 26 years. With the vision of ‘World Kitchen’, we are committed to providing high quality, hygienic and nutritional products with social responsibility and sustainable development. The establishment of this food factory aims to raise the quality standard of food production in Cambodia to international standards.”
While elaborating on the steps taken by the company to ensure quality, Kreangkriwit said, “There are five principles to get fresh meat. The animal must be healthy and transported from a standard farm. The preparation of the animals before entering the slaughterhouse is that the animals do not suffer from emotional pressure because when the animals are under pressure, the quality of the meat will decrease.
Third, the place and equipment must be clean by choosing the right, modern and well-maintained equipment. Fourth, the production process must be standardised per the principles and hygiene, there should be a clear division between clean and dry parts, and disinfectants must be inspected at all stages of production.”
“Finally, the care of meat after processing. The meat must be stored at the right temperature to prevent the growth of bacteria that cause damage. If we implement all five of these points, we get good quality, fresh, clean and safe meat for consumers.”
