The first meeting of the Cambodia-Hungary joint commission on economic cooperation are scheduled to be held on Nov 30 and Dec 1, although a venue or whether it will take place online has yet to be decided.
On Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce conducted an inter-ministry meeting to check and discuss the status quo of cooperation between Cambodia-Hungary.
Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce Tekreth Kamrang, who will chair the meeting, said inputs and requests from relevant stakeholders will be sought to propose as part of the agenda.
She added the discussions will check and discuss the progress of the prioritised cooperation between Cambodia and Hungary, namely the status of trade, investment, agriculture, environment, civil aviation, education, culture, water resources, water supply, tourism and information, technology and communications (ICT).
“The meeting was agreed to push the implementation of the memoranda of understandings (MoUs) that both parties had already signed such as the aviation sector agreement, agriculture agreement, water resources management agreement and the MoU on ICT,” Kamrang added.
Delegates will also discuss draft rules of procedure to push the implementation of the economic sector between Cambodia-Hungary and the process of strengthening collaboration between the two nations in all sectors between the two countries, especially the need to expand trade volume and bilateral investment between Cambodia and Hungary.
