The second phase of the Forest Harmony project, the Golf Harmony, was officially launched on Saturday.
Both projects, Forest Harmony and Golf Harmony, in Phary Village, Prey Thnong Commune, Teuk Chhou District, are located about 18 Kilometres from Kampot town.
Saraj Sutton, chief operations officer of Century 21 Cambodia, which was appointed as the exclusive rights agent for the Forest Harmony project, said that the two projects cost around $80 million and are located in the Harmony Valley Complex.
He said that COVID-19 has not affected their businesses at all, especially in the real estate sector as the company was selling more than what it did before the pandemic, he added.
Sutton said this is significant because the properties attracted a huge pool of Cambodian investors and buyers while before it was dominated by foreigners. However, because of the pandemic, foreigners were not that active, but Cambodian investors are coming and snapping up the whole project.
He said that the first phase of Forest Harmony project, comprising 78 luxury villas covering 13 hectares of land, was launched in December 2019, and more than 60 per cent of the units have been sold thus far.
“We are now launching the second phase of the project, called Golf Harmony on a 27.3 hectares plot of land, bringing the first of its kind golf course into the charming province together with 4 blocks of condominium units in lush green landscaped spaces, Sutton said.
He said that the development of Golf Harmony will enhance the modern lifestyle villa-owners in phase I and will add more colour to Kampot province where tourism, real estate, and investment opportunities are growing rapidly.
Sutton added the whole concept of the development is about holiday homes so that people in Cambodia can buy a holiday home in which they can have a nice relaxing time with family and friends.
“The second phase which is called Golf Harmony has been launched. It has a nine holes golf course along with 51 luxury villas located around the golf course. On top of that, the project will also include four blocks of condominiums comprising 168 units.”
The price for a 4 bedroom Villa in Golf Harmony ranges between $351,000 to $395,000 including an individual swimming pool with an average land size of 1,200 square metres, he added.
“Kampot is now a vibrant destination for tourism and business with a wide range of food and entertainment options,” Sutton said and added that the developers are bringing in Western design concepts of holiday villa homes to Kampot; and hoped to attract more tasteful people to spend time in Cambodia for their holiday and weekends.”
Chrek Soknim, president of the Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association, said that the concept of a second home and leisure development is a new trend that’s gaining momentum in Cambodia.
According to Soknim, developers who are looking to invest in holiday and leisure home properties generally focus on villas located in the coastal areas, hills, and mountainsides. He added that Sihanoukville, Koh Kong, and Kep are the new desired locations for developers looking to get a piece of the holiday home market.
“The living standard of Cambodians are getting better and they are starting to find properties specifically for their retirement, leisure and relaxation,” he said.
