A 38-year real estate veteran and former president/chief executive officer of global franchisor Century 21 Real Estate LLC, Richard W. Davidson, has been appointed as the new chairman of Century 21 Cambodia.
The board of directors of Century 21 Cambodia are welcoming Davidson because they feel he will set a strategic direction, further penetrate the real estate market and expand the company’s presence in Cambodia and other emerging markets in Southeast Asia.
It has a wide network of 23 offices in Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville
and other major cities and provinces, with more than 200 qualified and well trained professional agents.
As a realtor, the firm provides a wide range of services in real estate from property brokerage, real estate project marketing and sales management, land and property investment consultant service, to affiliation opportunities.
Davidson, who takes over his new role in August, has overseen explosive growth for the Century 21 brand as well as in his role as president of Century 21 Everest Realty Group in Utah, in the US, where he led that company’s merger with Troop Real Estate in California, the largest merger and acquisition ever recorded in the Century 21 Network.
Grace Rachny Fong, executive director of Century 21 Cambodia, gave a warm welcome to Davidson. She noted that Davidson has led the Century 21 brand for 84 countries worldwide.
Grace said that the presence of Davidson in Cambodia will assist the real estate industry in Cambodia to grow because Century 21 Cambodia is expanding its brand to 38 branches across the country. “His (Davidson’s) vision is to boost real estate growth in Cambodia like other countries in Asean,” Grace said.
“The reason that Davidson choose Cambodia among the 84 countries worldwide because he liked Cambodian people’s smile and there was good teamwork of the Century 21 Cambodia he identified once he first arrived in Cambodia in 2019. Therefore, his love and passion for the country made him want to be here in Cambodia,” she added.
“Next year, once travel activities and flights are resumed, he will fly to Cambodia and visit various provinces – Kampot, Mondulkiri and Pursat – and will bring good investors to Cambodia,” Grace said.
“Davidson has been the principal driver behind the phenomenal success of
the Century 21 brand in the last 10 years and, with him leading the way and his comprehensive knowledge of the connections between us, our customers and the markets we serve and plan to operate in, the board is confident that our goal will become reality. Our agents and their homebuyer and seller clients will be the benefactors of our collective successes.”
Cambodian real estate has been surging for years and the micro-and macro-economic factors suggest that this country’s property market will be strong for years to come, said Davidson.
“My goal is to lead on multiple fronts, leveraging my global network and leadership skills to advance a clear strategic vision and propel this organisation forward through the next stage of growth while solidifying our position as the country’s largest real estate organisation that Cambodians, Southeast Asians and the world can trust in and rely on.” he added.
