KrisEnergy is seeking a further extension from Cambodia’s government for start-up of the Apsara oil development in block A in the Gulf of Thailand.
KrisEnergy’s attempts to draw Cambodia’s first drop of crude is well underway with the jacket and topsides for the MiniPlatform installed and the Ingenium II production barge arriving at the field location in October.
On Oct. 29, the jackup PVD III started drilling the first of five development wells, A-03D, and batch drilling of the top-hole section of the wells is under way.

The Cambodian government had agreed to push back the deadline by four months to Oct. 31, 2020 before taking action (financial or otherwise, including termination).
Despite COVID-19 restrictions, the development is progressing, with all main components of the Apsara Mini Phase 1A infrastructure in place at the field location.
