Cambodia earned more than $217 million from the export of Cambodia rubber and Cambodia rubber wood in the first six months of 2022.
This is according to the report of the General Department of Rubber, obtained by local news on 13 July.
According to the report, the total revenue as of June 2022 from the export of Cambodia rubber and rubber wood was $217,935,431, of which the export revenue of rubber was $215,762,650 and the revenue from the export of rubber wood clocked in at $2,172,781.
As of June 2022, Cambodia exported 135,137 tons of Cambodia rubber, an increase of 3,382 tons, equivalent to three percent compared to the same period last year. The export of rubber wood reached 14,627 cubic metres.
The average selling price of rubber as of June 2022 was $1,597 per ton, a decrease of $91 per ton, or five percent from the same period last year.
Nong Veasna, General Director of Kol Veasna Investment Company, which invests in rubber plantations in Kampong Thom province, said that the situation of rubber revenue has decreased about 15 percent due to falling sales prices.
