Cambodia exported 7.98 million tons of agricultural products in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 63.8%. In terms of fruit, Cambodia exported nearly 377,000 tons of fresh bananas and 4,771 tons of fresh mangoes to China.
After successfully knocking on the door of the Chinese market, the field of banana planting in Cambodia has grown fast. There are no quota restrictions on the direct export of Cambodian banana products to the Chinese market, which has driven the field of banana planting and export in Cambodia.
Cambodian banana products are directly exported to the Chinese market without quota restrictions, driving the growth of Cambodian banana planting and export.
The above-mentioned factors have also attracted a large number of domestic and foreign investors to invest in the Cambodian banana planting industry, resulting in the continuous expansion of the banana planting area and the expected increase in production.
At present, there are at least 15 banana planting enterprises in Cambodia, with a planting area of more than 4,000 hectares, and supporting enterprises such as tissue culture plants, organic fertilizer plants, carton plants, bagging plants and cold chain logistics enterprises have also been gradually established, which has promoted the development of the banana export industry.
Cambodia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced that China has become the largest export market for Cambodia’s fruit, rice, tapioca flour and many other major agricultural products.
